The first lent services were held at the Lutheran church Sunday evening.  The next services will be this Friday afternoon at 2:30.

 

Anna Manthei was home from Neillsville over Sunday.

 

A Valentine party was given at the Lutheran schoolhouse Friday evening.  $6.75 was realized from the sale of the hearts.  After luncheon, the young people repaired to the Carl Wegner home where they helped celebrate Walter’s birthday.  All enjoyed a pleasant evening.

 

Libbie and Erwin Bartell of Neillsville visited Sunday at the H. Kunkel and W.B. Thoma homes.

 

There was a dance at Chas. White’s Saturday evening.

 

Erich Schoenherr Sr. and family visited at L. Quast’s Sunday.

 

W.B. Thoma and family entertained a number of boys and girls at supper on Sunday.

 

Gus. Kalsow helped Ed Schwellenbach make bolts last week.

 

Ed Prock and family spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Emil Poppe.

 

Rev. Parisius called on the Chris Christensen family Wednesday.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Will Glasow Jr. attended a dance at Neillsville Thursday evening.

 

Frank Converse is home from Melrose since Saturday.

 

Mrs. Elizabeth Fuller is slowly recovering from her recent severe illness and is now up and about the house.

 

Frank Davis bought the old Sam Gerlach home Tuesday, a 3 ½ acre tract joining him on the east and lately owned by one Meade of Neillsville.  Mr. and Mrs. Harry Davis will live there.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Frank Shields and daughter Celia of South Grant went to Kewaskum Saturday to visit relatives and attend the golden wedding of his parents.

 

Vet surgeon Abbott of Marshfield was here on professional business for B.F. Frazier on route 3 on Saturday.

 

Rev. Wilson Mallory went to Stevens Point Saturday and made an over Sunday stay.

 

Ernest Crevecour and P.J. Kemmeter were at Marshfield on business Saturday.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Albert Bentz and little daughter Elsie of Milwaukee are visiting at Richard Kurth’s since Saturday.
