Simon, T. Leonard (1913? - 26 JUL 1960)

Funeral services were held Sunday for an Owen (Clark Co., Wis.) bulldozer operator fatally injured near Mondovi Tuesday while working for an Eau Claire contractor on Hwy. 10 improvements.

T. Leonard Simon, 47, Rt. 4, was crushed when a bulldozer he was operating on the night shift overturned on a 15-foot embankment about 11 p.m. July 26, 1960.  Dr. W.E. Wright from Mondovi was called and he sent the injured man to Luther Hospital, Eau Claire, in the Kientvet ambulance.

Simon died at the hospital at 4:30 a.m. Thursday as a result of his injuries.  He had lived in this area for about 15 years after service in the army, Navy, and Air Force.

He had operated heavy equipment on two trips to Greenland and had been employed on interstate highway work in Wisconsin near Beloit before going to work on the Hwy. 10 project for H.F. Rudant, Eau Claire.

Mr. Simon is survived by his wife, the former Helen Haavisto; three sons, three daughters; three sisters; one brother, and his parents.
