Harycki, Joanna (8 FEB 1910 - 11 AUG 1960)
Last rites were held at the Thorp Funeral Home at ten o’clock, Monday, Aug. 15th, for Mrs. Joanna (Jean) Harycki, 50, who passed away of an acute heart attack at her home at 10:30 Thursday, Aug. 11, 1960. Father Connie Chilicki of St. Hedwig’s Church, officiated.
Joanna Piwoni was born on a farm north of Thorp in Taylor County on Feb. 8, 1910. She attended the local school and upon reaching womanhood was united in marriage to Edward S. Harycki on Feb. 22, 1932. Her home has been in the city of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.) with her family for the past fifteen years. She was a member of the Thorp American Legion Auxiliary.
Besides her husband, she is survived by one daughter, JoAnn J. Harycki of Thorp; five sons, Edward W. Harycki, Hyattsville, Md., Sylvester F. Harycki of Thorp, Paul J. Harycki of Great Lakes, Ill., William R. Harycki and Francis Harycki of Thorp; one sister, Mrs. Henry (Ella) Soper of Chicago, and one brother, Joseph Piwoni of Thorp, and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Piwoni of Thorp.
She was laid to rest in St. Hedwig’s Cemetery.
Friends and relatives from out of town who were here to attend the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Henry Soper and family, Phil Kaszubowski, Mr. and Mrs. John Smodilla and Mr. and Mrs. John Dulek of Chicago; Mr. and Mrs. Tony Przybylski, Glenview, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Jack Kruzinski, Ingleside, Ill.; Mrs. Bernice Klasinski, Mr. and Mrs. Florian Klasinski, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Klasinski and Mrs. Frank Bernard, Stevens Point, Mr. and Mrs. Teofil Piwoni, Athens, Mrs. Sophie Lanieski, Chippewa Falls, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Kraskin and Mrs. John Zajac, Minneapolis, and Mr. and Mrs. Martin Harycki of Greenwood, Wis.
