Kodl, Albert Sr. (16 MAY 1888 - 31 AUG 1960)

 

Albert Kodl Sr., 72, passed away at his home on Wednesday, Aug. 31, 1960 of a cerebral hemorrhage.

 

Mr. Kodl, a retired farmer, was born May 16, 1888 in Czechoslovakia, coming to America as a young man.  On Feb. 15, 1913 he was married to Stella Spala in Chicago.  They moved to Minnesota and later to rural Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.) and in 1952 they moved to the city of Thorp.

 

Funeral services were held on Friday, Sept. 2 at two p.m. with Rev. James Stone officiating.  Burial was in East Thorp Cemetery.  Pallbearers were: Joseph F. Czech, Leon Kudingo, Walter Ruda, Joe Kudingo, Frank Sierocuk, Rollo Everette.

 

Surviving are his wife, Stella; four sons, Albert and Joe of Thorp, Jerry of Wausau, Emil of Stanley; one daughter Helen, Mrs. Frank Jasinek, Thorp; one brother, Frank Kodl of Czechoslovakia; one sister, Mary Prachozka of Jackson, Minn., and 22 grandchildren.

 

Out of town relatives and friends attending the funeral were from Austin, Minn., Curtiss, Stanley, Withee, Atwood, Lublin and Almond, Wis.
