King, Jessie (1 March 1887 - 7 July 1967)
Funeral services for Mrs.
Roy (Jessie) King, 80, of Neillsville, who died here Friday, were held Monday at
3 o’clock from the Methodist Church. The Rev. William Dushek officiated. Burial
was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery.
Mrs. King was born March 1,
1887, in Spencer. She received her education in Nasonville and Marshfield
schools. She worked out as a young girl. She was married June 13, 1906, in
Mauston to the late Roy King, who died in 1962. The family was engaged in
farming until the later years. She spent most of her life in Clark County. She
was a member of the Neillsville Methodist Church.
Mrs. King is survived
by nine children: Elgar of Neillsville; Mrs. Albert (Mildred) Miller of rural
Neillsville; Mrs. Homer (Jeynettia) Tomlinson of Campbellsport; Morley King of
Neillsville; Leroy King of Yelm, Wash.; Elliott King of Beaver Dam; Mrs. Roy
(Dimple) Reise of Yelm, Wash.; and Ned King of Milwaukee. Other survivors are:
three sisters, Miss Lillian Stevens of Jamestown, N. Y., Mrs. Clarence (Grace)
Peterson of Taylor, and Mrs. Luella Smith of Rib Lake; and two brothers,
Clifford Stevens of Taylor and Howard Kelsey of Florence. Thirty-six
grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren also survive.
Pallbearers were
Mrs. King’s grandsons, Albert Miller, Jr., Bruce Miller, Robert Mathews, Donald
King, Eugene King and Maynard King.
Ellis Wall, accompanied by Mrs. Iris
Musil, sang, “The Old Rugged Cross” and “Rock of Ages”.

Anderson of Taylor; Mrs. Warren Van Kirk, and Mrs. Dale Huebner of Humbird; Mr.
and Mrs. N. L. Brissen of Chippewa Falls; Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Miller of Green
Bay; and Mr. and Mrs. Eugene King of Milwaukee.
