Wilson, Martha Louisa (DEC 1914)
Miss Martha Louisa Wilson, eldest
daughter of J.W. Wilson, one of Spooner’s prominent pioneer residents, was
quietly married to Mr. Herbert W. Quinnell of Neillsville, Wednesday afternoon
at three o’clock at the home of her parents on Oak Street. Only the immediate
family was present. Rev. Crawford of the Episcopal Church was the officiating
clergyman. Miss Alta Crocker played the wedding march. Miss Elizabeth Quinnell
of Neillsville was the maid of honor and Mr. Magnuson acted as best man. The
bride was beautifully gowned in white voile.
After the ceremony a
sumptuous wedding dinner was served by Mrs. Wilson.
Miss Wilson is one of
the most brilliant girls of Spooner’s younger set and is beloved by all who know
her. She graduated from our high school in the class of 1914, with honors.
Mr. Quinnell is employed on the Omaha as a brakeman, and is a young man of
sterling qualities.
The young couple departed on the evening for
Neillsville and other points for a short wedding trip. They expect to return
Jan. 1st and start housekeeping. The best wishes of the entire community go with
them for a happy and prosperous married life. --Spooner Advocate
