Wartolec, Wanda (6 June 1919 - 3 October 2012)

Wanda Wartolec, age 93, formerly of Chicago, passed away peacefully at the Homeplace in Stanley on Wednesday, October 3, 2012.

Wanda was born on June 6, 1919, in Thorp, the daughter of the late Adam & Josephine (Dubicki) Nyckel. She grew up in Thorp, attending Thorp schools.

On October 22, 1948, Wanda was united in marriage to Edward Wartolec with the couple residing in Chicago.

Wanda is survived by her brother, Henry (Eugenia) Nyckel of Stanley; brother-in-law, Walter (Marie) Wartolec of Madison; two nephews: Duayne Nyckel and Jerry (Leslie) Nyckel; and two nieces: Patricia (Phil) Harper and Rochelle (Tom) Epperson.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Edward, in 1995.

Services were held on Friday, October 5, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, Stanley, with Fr. William Felix officiating. Friends and family called from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Plombon Funeral Home, Stanley. Burial will be at a later date in St. Adalbert’s Cemetery, Chicago, IL.
