Dr. and Mrs. Gaylord W. Nelson have the honor of announcing the marriage of
their daughter, Gay Elizabeth, to John R. DeWerd of Milwaukee, on Saturday,
April 7, 1962 at Wauwatosa Methodist Church, Wauwatosa. Mr. DeWerd if the son of
Mr. and Mrs. John DeWerd, Sr. of Milwaukee.
Attendants at the wedding
were Mr. and Mrs. Stan Jordan of Milwaukee. For the 5 o’clock ceremony the bride
wore a long blue satin cloak dress with a matching chiffon hat with a nose veil.
The matron of honor was seen in a dress identical to that of the bride, in a
gold color. Each wore a hand corsage of orchids, the bride’s was of blue and
white and her attendant of tinted gold.
A dinner at the Embers Club for
the immediate family and close friends followed the rites. The couple then left
for a honeymoon trip to Florida.
The new Mrs. DeWerd is a graduate of
Wayland Academy at Beaver Dam and of Marquette University as a dental hygienist.
She has been employed in Milwaukee for several years as a dental hygienist. Her
husband is a graduate of the college of Business Administration of Notre Dame
and is in partnership with his father in Milwaukee. They will make their home in
Pewaukee.
Mr. and Mrs. George Nelson of Medford and Dr. and Mrs. Gaylord
Nelson attended the wedding.
