Henry
Iche and daughter Miss Sarah of Marshfield spent several days of last week with
the Gus Lindow family on Route 2 and left on Saturday for Augusta on a visit to
the John Kohnke family there.
Mr. and Mrs. Earl Pickett and baby Ruth
Ione came down from Spencer Saturday and made an over Sunday visit at E.A.
Beeckler’s.
Little Ruth Ione, who is 10 weeks old, weight 8 1/2 pounds.
Mr. and Mrs. Earl C. harper and Mr. and Mrs. H.J. Battersby, all of Chicago,
after a couple weeks visit at the John Battersby home on Route 4, returned to
Chicago on Saturday.
Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Hubing and two children were down
from Athens and made a couple days visit at the George Beaver home last week.
Mrs. E.W. Johnson, Lester and Ruth Johnson are here from Stevens Point
visiting relatives in the Gus Hahm family since Monday.
Miss Mildred
Koezer of Two Rivers, after a week’s visit at her uncle Chas. Haltaufderheide’s
, went home Saturday, accompanied as far as Marshfield by her cousin Earl
Haltaufderheide.
Mrs. W.A. Harris of Boston, Mass., after a several days
visit with relatives in the H.T. Lawson family, continued on to Sheboygan on
Saturday.
Miss Anna Bladl of Route 2 came home from a several weeks visit
at Hokah, Minn., Saturday, accompanied by Miss Margaret Guenther of that place,
who will visit the Chas. and John Bladl families.
Mrs. Jim Fields of the
town of Sherwood drove in last Friday and visited at Wesley Shafer’s. Her
daughter Bessie, who had been here on a 2 week visit between the Wesley and
Lester Shafer’s, went home with her that evening.
Mr. and Mrs. Ed Riedel
and their 2 son were over from Neillsville Monday on a visit to home folk, and
to attend the funeral of the Late Mrs. Geo. Hollenbach.
Ernest Todd, a
Corp. in Co. A., 3rd Infantry, came up from Camp Douglas Monday on a couple days
furlough.
Mrs. J. Packard, son Earl and daughter Daisy, and son-in-law
Frank L. Davis and H. Rhiner, all of Taylor County, autoed down last week and
spent a couple days with Frank Davis and family.
Mrs. H.C. Witte has her
right hand “professionally done up” since last week Friday when she, carrying an
earthen dish, fell upon the cement walk in her yard and cut her hand most
seriously.
The Misses Clara and Grace Lawson went to Auburndale Wednesday
on a visit to the Henry Grassman family, and where Grace is spending the balance
of the week. Clara came home that evening.
Mrs. Elizabeth Fuller spent
the greater part of the last 3 weeks with Miss Abbie Ide, helping her to pack up
and get ready to leave the old home. Miss Abbie and brother Cash are as yet
undecided as to where they will take up residence next, but we think it is safe
to say there’ll be no more farming for either, from now on.
Mrs. John
Bladl and children spent yesterday at the John Malamphy home in Chili getting
acquainted with the new Malamphy girl who was a week old last Sunday.
Mrs. Paul Hantke and two children arrived homer yesterday from a couple weeks
trip and visit with relatives at Plymouth and Hartford City, Ind.
Scott
Davis’ herd of pure bred Guernseys carried off 11 blue ribbons at the Marshfield
fair, while Geo. Wilson’s pure bred Holsteins brought home 8.
Jerry
Blodgett and W.G. White autoed over from Marshfield the first of the week in
Blodgett’s new Locomobile. Mr. Blodgett bought several head of cows of W.S.
Davis, here.
Aug. Reimer, accompanied by Walter Krause, autoed to
Marshfield Sunday and brought John Jaborek home from the hospital there. Mr.
Jaborek is as yet a very sick man and his recovery will be at best, be slow.
Mr. and Mrs. Geo. A. Ure, Mrs. Robert Kurth and Mrs. Aug. Arndt were among
the Neillsville folk in attendance at the funeral of Mrs. Hollenbach on Monday.
Mr. and Mrs. Mike Wahrieben of Fond du Lac came Saturday on a visit to her
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Kelpin. Mr. Wahrieben returned home on Monday while
Mrs. remained on a more extended visit and to help her parents in their moving
from the old home to the Carl Bloche home west of Neillsville where they will at
least spent the winter.
