Hohl, Katharine (14 March 1887 - 12 July 1967)
Mrs.
Edwin Hohl, 80, of Greenwood, died July 12 in Memorial Hospital in Neillsville
where she had been admitted due to a heart ailment. Funeral services were held
Saturday from the Zion United Church in Greenwood. Burial was made in the
Greenwood Cemetery. The Rev. David Logue officiated.
Katherine
Sonderegger Hohl was born March 14, 1887, in Berneck, Switzerland. She was
married May 4, 1908, to Edwin Hohl in Woltzenhausen, Switzerland. They came to
the United States in March 1911, and lived in southern Wisconsin for three years
before coming to Greenwood in 1914. They purchased a farm in the Greenwood area,
where they lived until their retirement in 1954. They have since made their home
in Greenwood.
Mr. and Mrs. Hohl celebrated their golden wedding
anniversary in 1958. Mrs. Hohl was a member of the Zion United Church and its
Women’s Guild, and of the Forest Queen Royal Neighbor Camp.
She is
survived by her husband; two sons, Fred and Walter, and a daughter, Mrs. Anita
Miller, all of Greenwood; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
