Luepke, Elizabeth (12 AUG
1882 - 15 MAY 1962)
Funeral services were held Friday at the Hansen
Funeral Chapel in Marshfield for Mrs. August Luepke, 79, of Marshfield. She died
shortly before noon Tuesday. Rev. R.L. Jacobs of the First Methodist Church
officiated and burial was made in Hillside Cemetery.
The former Elizabeth
Fenhouse was born Aug. 12, 1882 in Fond du Lac County. She moved to Castlewood,
S.D. and in 1906 moved to Spencer. Her marriage took place in Bessemer, Mich. on
April 29, 1908, to August Luepke. After their marriage, they lived in Spencer
except for a short time when they resided in Colby, Loyal and Ladysmith. In 1941
they moved to Marshfield. They celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in
1958.
Survivors include her husband; four sons, Casper, Grand Rapids,
Mich.; James, Warnerd and Melvin, Milwaukee, and Vern, Aledo, Ill.; three
daughters, Miss Elnora Luepke, Marshfield; Mrs. Harold (Viola) Newman, Loyal,
and Mrs. Myron (Hazel) Riplinger, La Crosse; 28 grandchildren, 23
great-grandchildren; five sisters and three brothers.
Attending the
services from here were Mr. and Mrs. Harold Newman, Miss Kay Newman of
Milwaukee, Mrs. Frank Croman of Mt. Holly, N.J., and Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Newman
of Niagara Falls, N.Y. also attended.
