St. Anthony’s Catholic Church was the scene of the wedding
Saturday, May 26, 1962, of Marcella Joyce Davel and Sylvester Lawrence Bauer,
both of Loyal (Clark Co., Wis.). Rev. Norbert E. King officiated at the 10:30
ceremony before an altar decorated with bouquets of large mums and gladiolas.
The Nuptial High Mass was sung by the church choir.
Parents of the bride
and groom are Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Davel and Mr. and Mrs. Rowland Bauer.
The bride, who was presented in marriage by her father, wore a white street
length gown of lace over taffeta, styled with a scalloped Sabrina neckline
trimmed with sequins. Her fingertip veil was caught to a crown of crystals and
pearls and she carried a cascade of American beauty roses and stephanotis.
The bride chose her sister, Mrs. Allen Wehrman, to be her matron of honor.
She wore a yellow ballerina length frock and held sweetheart yellow roses and
yellow tinted carnations. As bridesmaids were: Mrs. Jerome Davel and Mrs. Hank
Trampbush of Loyal. They wore blue and pink ballerina dresses respectively, and
carried sweetheart roses and blue and pink tinted carnations.
Best man
was Allen Wehrman, and groomsmen were Hank Trampbush, a brother-in-law of the
groom, and Jerome Davel, a brother of the bride. Melvin Klimmer of Loyal and
Daniel Davel, the bride’s brother, were ushers.
A dinner was served at
the church dining hall and a reception and supper were held at the bride’s
parents home. The newlyweds are both graduates of Loyal High School. They will
make their home in Loyal where he is employed at Zupanc Motors
