Mrs. Mike (Alma) Beaver, 69, died at her home at route 2, Loyal (Clark Co.,
Wis.), Monday evening at 8 o'clock. She suffered a stroke and has been in ill
health for the past seven years.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at St. Anthony's Catholic
Church with Rev. Norbert E. Kind officiating. Burial will be at the parish
cemetery. The body will lie in state at the Myre Funeral Home beginning
Wednesday morning and a general rosary service was to be held at 8 p.m.
Wednesday evening.
The former Alma Bassett was a lifelong resident of this area, being born in the
town of York on May 4, 1893. She received her education in the town of York
school and for the past forty years has lived on the present farm home. She was
married June 17, 1913 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Loyal, to Michael
Beaver, who died June 28, 1947.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Catherine Bauer, Loyal; Mrs. Paul
(Louise Schmitt, Tucson, Ariz.; Mrs. Albert (Dorothy) Degenhardt, Milwaukee; one
son, John of Loyal; ten grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Sylvia Pagelsdorf and
Mrs. H.E. Catlin, both of Loyal; and a brother, Clayton Bassett of Fort Wayne,
Ind.
