Capen, Judy G. (7 July 1984)
Judy G. Capen and Gary A. Mohr were united in marriage on Saturday, July 7, in
Neillsville. Parents of the couple are Leon and Helen Capen, Rt. 4 Neillsville,
and Mr. and Mrs. Donald Mohr, Rt. 2 Neillsville. Family Court Commissioner
Norman Saracoff officiated at the civil ceremonies.
Serving as attendants for the couple were Karen Chartier, the bride’s sister of
Marshfield, and Steve Mohr, the groom’s brother of Neillsville.
The bride chose a traditional gown and carried a bouquet of light blue silk
roses. The groom was attired in a light blue tuxedo.
Following the ceremonies, a reception was held at Snyder’s Park west of
Neillsville. The new Mr. and Mrs. Mohr will make their home at rural
Neillsville. She is employed at Weyerhauser in Marshfield.

The Rev. Arlene Denzer officiated at the Saturday afternoon, June 30, wedding of
Rita J. Henchen of Greenwood and James C. Delo of rural Loyal. The nuptials took
place at the Loyal United Methodist Church. Parents of the couple are Robert and
Evelyn Henchen of Greenwood and Jerome and Marjorie Delo, Rt. 1 Loyal.
Music at the service was offered by Ruth Zepplin, Deon Spangler and Lori Anding.
Serving as maid of honor was Penny Smrecek, a friend of Loyal. She was joined by
Linda Ormond, a friend from Marshfield; and Barb Adler, the groom’s sister of
Marshfield. Rodney Delo, the groom’s brother of Loyal, was bestman. He was
joined by Kenny Milz, a friend from Withee, and John McNeely, a friend from
Loyal. Ushers were Tom Djubenski, the bride’s cousin of Greenwood, and Larry
Delo, the groom’s brother of Colorado.
Following the service a reception was held at the Village Plaza in Spencer and a
dinner at the church hall.
The couple will make their home in Greenwood. She is employed by the Clark
County Council on Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse in Neillsville, and he is
employed by Meyer’s Corporation, Dorchester.

Meissner, Melody Kim (7 July- 1984)
A garden wedding was held on Saturday afternoon, July 7, for Melody Kim Meissner
and Eric Bowe Dovenbarger. The Rev. Dale Freberg officiated the service held at
the home of the bride’s parents, Norman and Elaine Meissner, Rt. 1 Chili.
Parents of the groom are Elizabeth Dovenbarger of Madison and Dr. William
Dovenbarger of Marshfield.
Music at the service was offered by Ron Gluck, Steve Meissner, Chuck Treankler
and Jeff Pritzl.
The bride chose both a maid of honor and a matron of honor; the former was Tracy
Seidel, and a friend from Marshfield, the latter was the bride’s sister, Sandy
Garrand, Salt Lake City, Utah. Joining them as bridesmaids were Jody Meissner,
the bride’s niece of Chili; Mrs. Jerrold Meissner, the bride’s sister-in-law of
Utah; Kelly Bertz, a friend from Marshfield, and Lisa Lenz, a friend from
Marshfield.
Bestman was David Meissner, the bride’s brother of Chili. He was joined by Jerry
Meisner, the bride’s brother of Chili; Kurt Dovenbarger, the groom’s brother of
Madison; Steve Meissner, the bride’s brother of Chili; Vance Dovenbarger, the
groom’s brother of Madison, Joel Leu, a friend from Marshfield. Ushers were
Edwin Meissner, the bride’s brother of Chili, and Tim Bender, a friend of the
couple from Minneapolis.
Miniature bride and groom were Matt Garrand of Salt Lake City and Jennifer
Meissner of Chili. Ringbearer and flower girl were Joshua and Tiffney Meissner
of Chili. All are nieces and nephews of the bride.
The ride chose a gown of taffeta, featuring Wedgwood and Venetian lace with a
semi-cathedral train and a tiara-effect veiled headpiece. She carried a cascade
of white roses, stephanotis, English ivy and baby’s breath. Her attendants wore
gowns of ice pink taffeta featuring Wedgewood lace. They carried white lace fans
with starburst and pompom stephanotis, baby’s breath and English ivy. Their hair
was also adorned with greenery.
Following the exchange of vows, a reception was held at the bride’s parent’s
home, followed by a dinner and dance at the River Edge Country Club, Marshfield.
The couple announced that they would take a wedding trip at a later date.
Prenuptial events included a shower hosted by Jeanette Hansen, Verna Grunon and
Diane Meissner.
The new Mr. and Mrs. Dovenbarger will make their home in Fridley, Minnesota. She
is a 1983 graduate of Marshfield Senior High School and studied esthesiology at
the Horst Center in the Twin Cities. She is employed as a cosmetic manager for
Airport Services Unlimited, Minneapolis. Her husband is also a Marshfield Senior
High School graduate and is now majoring in computer systems at Northwestern
Electronics Institute, Minneapolis.

The Rev. Kevin Wenker officiated at the Saturday afternoon, June 23, wedding for
Susan Kay Nickel and Gale Dean Moede. The nuptials were held at Granton’s Zion
Lutheran Church. Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. William Nickel and Mr.
and Mrs. Gordon Moede, all of Rt. 1 Chili.
Caroline Helm of Granton and Mrs. Pat Nickel of Loyal offered music for the
service.
Debbie Moeller, the bride’s sister of Marshfield, served as matron of honor. She
was joined by Sue Pernsteiner, a friend from Granton; Diane Foemmel, a cousin of
the bride from Marshfield; Marie Seyfert, a friend from Marshfield; Patty
Bartlet, the groom’s sister of Port Edwards; and Carrie Dix, a friend from
Chili. Miniature bride was Cheryl Droste, the groom’s niece of Wisconsin Rapids.
Serving as bestman was John Wolf, a friend from Chili. He was joined by Terry
Opelt, a friend from Granton; Glenn Moede, the groom’s brother of Sioux Falls,
South Dakota; John Moeller, the bride’s brother-in-law of Marshfield; Pat
Bartlet, the groom’s brother-in-law of Port Edwards; and Dale Nickel, the
bride’s brother of Chili. Miniature groom was Joshua Nickel, the bride’s nephew
of Loyal. Ushering were Dean Nickel and Greg Moede, brothers of the honored
couple and both from Chili.
The bride chose a Victorian-style gown of sheer organza with a ruffled and
embroidered yoke and a ruffled hemline that swept to a chapel-length train. Her
veil was of waltz length and fell from a Venician lace headpiece. She carried a
cascade of pink roses, white starburst spider mums, white carnations, adorned
with a variety of greens. Her attendants wore spaghetti-strapped gowns featuring
starburst pleated knit skirts and lacy overblouses. They carried cascades of
pink carnations, white spider mums, purple status and assorted greens. The groom
and his attendants wore silver tailed tuxedos in the Keatsian style.
Following the service, a reception was held at the Granton Sportsmen’s Club,
followed by a dinner in the church dining hall and dance at the Marshfield Labor
Temple.
Prenuptial events included an April 28 shower hosted by the bridesmaids and
sisters-in-law.
The new Mrs. Moede is a graduate of Granton High School and from Mid-State
Tech’s nursing assistant program. She is employed by the Marshfield Convalescent
Center. Her husband is also a graduate of the same high school and attended auto
body training at Mid-State Tech. He is employed as a driver for a Nekoosa firm.

Kathleen Marie Pekol and Ritchie Dean Kohlnhofer were united in marriage by the
Rev. Michael Mertens in Holy Family Catholic Church rites on Saturday afternoon,
July 7.
At the Willard ceremonies were parents of the bride, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Pekol,
Rt. 3 Neillsville, and the groom’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Kohlnhofer, Rt.
3 Neillsville.
Mary Ann Lesar and Laurie Larson offered special music for the service.
Debbie Ortner of Willard was matron of honor. She was joined by Lynn Meihack of
Eau Claire, Virginia Kuhn of Madison, Renee Zimmerman of Spencer and Amy
Schnitzler of Marshfield. Miniature bride was Sadie Schnitzler of Marshfield.
Jake Sowieja of Greenwood was bestman. He was joined by Ted Langlois, Eau
Claire; Dennis Kirn, Willard; Gary Anding, Neillsville; and Kevin Hagen,
Neillsville. Miniature groom was Andy Zimmerman of Spencer. Ushering were Greg,
Dan and Kent Pekol and Jim Kohlnhofer.
The bride chose a Dacron organza gown trimmed in Venician and Chantilly lace
with drop-shoulder bodice, full skirt with ruffles at the hemline and a
semi-cathedral-length train. She also wore a lace tiara with scalloped edge and
carried a bouquet of pink roses, pink daisies, stephanotis and baby’s breath.
Her attendants wore colonial-style gowns of pink organza with white lace trim
and ruffles cascading from the back; they carried pink daisies, pink and white
rosebuds, white mums and baby’s breath.
Following the service, a reception and dance was held at the Loyal American
Legion Hall. The couple announced wedding trip plans for Colorado.
The new Mrs. Kohlnhofer is a graduate of Neillsville High School and from the
medical clerk-typist program at District I Tech-Eau Claire. She is employed at
the Neillsville Clinic. Her husband, a graduate of Greenwood High School and the
welding program at District I Tech-Eau Claire, is employed by Ed Kraemer and
sons, Plain. The couple will make their home in Plain.

St. Jude Catholic Church in Lakewood, Colorado, was the June 15 late afternoon
site for the wedding of Connie Ross and Dean Schwartz. Parents of the couple are
Eugene and Greta Ross, 1511 Hewett St., Neillsville, and W. H. and Claudine
Schwartz, Golden, Colorado.
The Rev. Ed Buetner of Concord, California, officiated at the nuptials. Bob and
Kathy Ross, brother and sister of the bride, offered special music, including a
piece especially composed for the honored couple by Bob Ross.
The bride’s sister of Neillsville, Kathy Ross, was the maid of honor. Serving as
bridesmaids were Jonell Ross, the bride’s sister of Casper, Wyoming; Jolene
Wanke, the bride’s cousin of Medford; and Carla Fiss, a friend from Denver.
Flower girls were Amy Schwartz and Allison Schwartz, nieces of the groom.
Bestman was Tim Schwartz, the groom’s brother of Littleton, Colorado. He was
joined by friend Steve Moore of Seattle, Washington, friend Brad Boos of Denver
and the bride’s brother, Bob Ross of Stevens Point. Ushering were Mike Sles and
Phil Maher, both friends of the groom from Denver.
The bride chose a chapel-length gown featuring a Queen Anne’s neckline and
leg-o-mutton sleeves. She carried a bouquet of silk roses. Her attendants wore
spaghetti-strapped gowns in dusty rose hues; they carried candles. (The bride’s,
the attendants’ and the flower girls’ dresses were all made by the bride.) The
groom was attired in a white tuxedo and his attendants were in gray tuxedos.
Following the service, a reception and dance was held at Christ on the Mountain.
The couple announced wedding trip plans to Radisson, Wisconsin.
Prenuptial events included a shower hosted by Ethyl Rodeuchal and Kathy Namura.
The new Mr. and Mrs. Schwartz will make their home in Lakewood, Colorado. She is
a 1979 graduate of Neillsville High School and from District I Tech-Eau Claire.
She is presently attending Arapahoe Community College for business. Her husband
is a 1975 graduate of Nederland High School in Colorado. In 1983 he earned a law
degree from the Denver College of Law and is presently specializing in real
estate law.

Ginny Lynn Stark and Andrew Scheiderer were united in marriage on Saturday, June
30, in ceremonies conducted by the Rev. Kenneth Dix. The vows were shared at the
Greenwood Park. Parents of the couple are Bob and Arlene Stark, 20 Grand Ave.,
Neillsville, and Kenneth and Carol Scheiderer, Rochester, Minnesota.
Serving as maids of honor were friend of the bride Debbie Steiger of San Diego,
California, and Dania Stark, the bride’s sister of Milwaukee. Best men, both
friends of the groom, were Gordi Shay of Davis, California, and Steve Schmitter
of Virginia Beach, Virginia.
Music at the service was offered by the groom on guitar and the bride’s brother,
Todd Stark, who sang.
The bride chose a tea-length champagne-colored, embossed cotton gown. She wore a
hat trimmed with pink silver flowers and carried an antique crocheted cotton
purse. Her attendants wore short, dropped waist, hot pink cotton dresses and
carried hot pink, heart shaped potpourri pillows. The groom was attired in
cream-colored slacks and light blue shirt and tie; his attendants wore navy
slacks, light pink shirts with blue and pink argyle vests.
Following the sharing of vows, the bride’s uncles, Dick Fitzl and Elmer Noah,
aided in the picnic-style food preparation for the 150 guests. The bride’s great
uncle Joe Cavaleri offered music.
Prenuptial events included a Des Moines shower hosted by fellow employees of the
bride.
The new Mr. and Mrs. Scheiderer are making their home in Des Moines. She is a
graduate of Neillsville High School and attended UW-La Crosse and the University
of California at Santa Barbara. She is presently employed as assistant manager
for The Photo Center, Des Moines. Her husband is a graduate of UW-La Crosse and
is presently attending Drake University’s Law School.
