Richard Frederick Gotter, 77, Loyal (Clark Co., Wis.), died Sunday afternoon at 4:15 at the Clark County Hospital of old age complications. Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church. Rev. August Zaiser of Edgar will officiated and burial will be in the parish cemetery.

The body will lie in state at the Myre Funeral Home beginning Wednesday morning until Thursday noon, when it will be taken to the church until time of services.

Mr. Gotter was born June 17, 1885 in Potter, Calumet County. At the age of twelve he came to Clark County and lived on a farm near Lynn. When he was twenty years old he attended a dairy school at Madison. On July 2, 1906 he was married to Alvina Jensen at the Lynn Lutheran Church. After their marriage they lived east of Rozellville where they operated a cheese factory. Later they came to the Loyal area and operated cheese factories in this area for thirty-five years. In 1938 they moved to the city of Loyal where eh was active in city and county government from 1941 to 1958. He was director of the Central Wisconsin Cheese and Buttermakers Association for 25 years and a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. His first wife died in 1946 and in 1948 he married Alma Breseman who died in January of 1956.

Mr. Gotter is survived by five sons, Celen, Loyal; Harvey, Springfield, Oregon; Rueben, Marshfield; Elroy, Eau Claire and Ronald, Marshfield; three daughters, Mrs. Norman (Lorene) Luchterhand, Loyal; Mrs. Rupert (Arlene) Christman, Marshfield and Mrs. Paul (Elaine) Degenhardt, Abbotsford; one step-son, Algaron Breseman, Madison; twenty-one grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Henry (Ella) Schlinsog, Granton; Mrs. Carl (Lenora) Schuelke, Cobb, and Mrs. William (Selma) Foote, Granton; and two brothers, Ferdinand Gotter of Loyal and Arno Gotter of Granton. Two sons, two brothers and one sister preceded him in death.
