Seaman, Harvey Arthur (29 May 1917 - 26 October 2012) With Flag
Harvey A. Seaman, age 95, of Thorp, passed away on Friday, October 26, 2012, at
Oakbrook Health & Rehab in Thorp. Funeral services were held on Wednesday
October 31, 2012, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Bernard-St. Hedwig Catholic Church in
Thorp with Rev. Don Meuret officiating. Burial followed in St. Bernard Catholic
Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Jason Boyarski, Jesse Nowobielski, Eric Seaman, Joey
Seaman, Adam Seaman, Jesse Weiss, Brian Abramczak, Luke Seaman, and Daniel L.
Seaman Dean. Visitation was held on Wednesday, from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.
at the church.
Harvey Arthur Seaman was born on May 29, 1917, in the Town of Reseburg, rural
Thorp, WI, to Arthur and Meta (Frese) Seaman and was educated at area schools.
He enlisted in the United States Army on February 6, 1942, and served during
World War II, until his honorable discharge on October 2, 1945. He was united in
marriage to Bernice Haas on September 8, 1948, at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church
in Thorp. In addition to operating his own dairy farm, Harvey also worked at the
mattes Livestock Sale Barn, the Blue Moon Cheese Factory, and for the Town of
Reseburg over the years. After his retirement, he delivered meals for Meals on
Wheels.
In his spare time, Harvey enjoyed going to auctions and meeting new people. He
was a member of St. Bernard-St. Hedwig Catholic Church and the Thorp American
Legion Post #118.
Harvey is survived by his wife: Bernice Seaman of Thorp; five children: Bruce
(Cella) Seaman of Muskogee, OK, Glenn (Linnae) Seaman of Amery, Donna (Friend
Mike Kopacz) Seaman of Howe, OK, and Keith (Sally) Seaman of Thorp; his
son-in-law, Richard Boyarski of Thorp; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren,
nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Carol Boyarski; and two
brothers and three sisters.
