Gerhardt Carl Shell, 84, Loyal (Clark Co., Wis.), died at 7:30 Tuesday at Neillsville Memorial Hospital after being a patient there for the past several weeks with a heart condition.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. August Zaiser of Edgar officiating. Burial will be in the Loyal Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Myre Funeral Home beginning Friday morning, until noon Saturday when the body will be taken to the church to lie in state until time of services.

Mr. Shell was born June 4, 1878 in Kewaskum. His first marriage was to Mrs. Minnie Bremer in 1920 in California. She died in 1944. In Sept. of 1960 he was married to Mrs. Frieda Maier, who survives him.

As a child he moved to Iowa with his parents. His early years were spent in Iowa and Minnesota where eh dug well, operated threshing machines and other heavy farm machinery. For a time he lived in California and about forty years ago moved to Loyal. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

He had no children. He is survived by a brother, Louis Schlacht of Howard Lake, Minn.; a step-son, Louie Bremer. Five brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.
