----- Rogstad, Marian (21 JUL 1962)
On a honeymoon to the west coast are Marian Sylvia Rogstad and Melvin Thomas
Ayers, who were married Saturday, July 21, 1962 at St. Anthony's Catholic
Church. The church choir sang the 10 a.m. Nuptial High Mass with Mrs. Edward
Trnka as accompanist. Rev. Norbert E. King officiated.
Parents of the newlyweds are Mr. and Mrs. Edward Rogstad of Loayla dn Claude
Ayers of Neillsville.
As the bride stood before the altar she wore a floor length nylon chiffon gown
in snowy white with neckline detail and waist accent of a delicate Venice lace.
The fitted bodice featured long tapered sleeves. Her crown of imported Fleur de
Lies blossoms shaped to a forehead "V" and held her bouffant English illusion
veil. A cascade of red roses with stephanotis completed her attire.
The bride chose Mary Ellen Bertz of Loyal to be her maid of honor and
bridesmaids were Doreen Aumann of Minneapolis and Jeanette Elsinger of Loyal.
They were seen in identical gowns of mint green nylon sheer fashioned with
pleated bell street length skirts and a fitted bodice with oval neckline and "V"
corded front detail. Each carried a heart arrangement of white roses. A navy
blue lace dress with white accessories was worn by the mother of the bride.
A cousin of the groom, Herman Garbisch of Eagle River was best man and groomsmen
were Pat Mrotek of River Falls and William Erickson of Madison. Ushering duties
were performed by Terrance Rogstad, a nephew of the bride, of Loyal, and Michael
Endel, a cousin of the groom from West Allis.
A brunch in the church dining hall followed the ceremony and a reception during
the afternoon was held at the home of the bride's parents. A supper was served
in the church all and a dance was held at the Silver Dome Ballroom in
Neillsville.
Mrs. Ayers, who is a 1960 graduate of Loyal High School, is employed at Parkin
Ice Cream Co. at Marshfield. Her husband, who is employed at Russell's Furniture
and Hardware Store at Neillsville, received his education in the Neillsville
High School. The couple will make their home at Neillsville.
