----- Aumann, Doreen (11 AUG 1962)
Wedding vows were repeated during a Nuptial High Mass at St. Anthony's Catholic
Church Saturday, Aug. 11, 1962, by Doreen Aumann, Loyal (Clark Co., Wis.) and A.
Patrick Mrotek of River Falls. Rev. Norbert E. King celebrated the double ring
ceremony at 10 a.m., which was followed by a brunch in the church dining hall.
The church choir sang the Mass.
Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Henry Aumann, Sr. of Loyal and Mr. and
Mrs. Alex Mrotek of Owen.
As the bride was presented in marriage by her father she wore a white hand
clipped lace and tulle gown with a chapel train. The bodice was styled with a
Sabrina neckline trimmed with pearls and long tapered sleeves. Her full bouffant
skirt was detailed by alternating tiers of lace and pleated tulle. The back was
highlighted by the beauty of the tiers flowing into the train.
The bride's headpiece was a taffeta and lace rose outlined with pearls and
encircled by a veil of silk illusion. She carried red roses in a cascade
arrangement with a shower of white ribbons with rose buds attached to the
ribbons. She presented a bouquet of white carnations to the Blessed Virgin.
To be her attendants, the bride chose her sister, Mrs. Ray Miller of Loyal as
matron of honor, Mrs. Gen Major, a sister of the groom, Mrs. Harold Bentzler and
Mrs. Claire Mrotek of Rochester as bridesmaids. They wore street length dresses
with a lace bodice and Sabrina neckline and were highlighted with a cummerbund
extending into a bow in the back. The matron of honor was in pink and dresses of
the bridesmaids were green, yellow and blue. Each carried tinted carnations to
match their attire.
A royal blue dress with white accessories was worn by the bride's mother, and
the groom's mother wore a baby blue dress with white accessories.
Attending the groom were his brother, Claire Mrotek of Rochester as best man,
and Gene Major of Menomonie Falls, a brother-in-law of the groom, Harold
Bentzler, Sr., a brother-in-law of the bride, from Loyal, and Raymond Miller of
Loyal, a brother-in-law of the bride, as groomsmen.
Ushers were Louis Aumann, a brother of the bride, from Butler, Maryland, a
brother of the groom, and John Mrotek of Greenbelt.
A reception was held at the home of the bride's parents during the afternoon,
with a supper being served in the church dining hall. A dance in the evening was
held at the Silver Dome Ballroom in Neillsville.
Both the newlyweds are graduates of Loyal High School, the bride in 1960 and the
groom in 1958. The bride has been employed at the J.C. Penney Co. in
Minneapolis, Minn., and her husband is a student at River Falls State College at
River Falls. They will make their home at 210 N. Main, River Falls.
Out of town guests came from Owen, Neillsville, Greenwood, Minneapolis, Minn.,
Rochester, Minn., Greenbelt, Maryland, Kewaunee, Hawkins, Milwaukee, Butler and
Menomonie Falls.
