----- Dimmit, Rosemary (18 AUG 1962)
St. Joseph's Catholic Church at Fairview, near Fairchild, was the setting for
the wedding Saturday, Aug. 18, 1962, of Rosemary Dimmit, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. George Dimmit of Humbird, to Lawrence Francis Schmidt of Minneapolis, son
of Mr. and Mrs. Allie Schmidt of Loyal (Clark Co., Wis.)
Rev. Mathew Molnard officiated at the 9:30 a.m. Nuptial High Mass.
As the bride approached the altar on the arm of her father, she wore a gown of
Chantilly lace and tulle styled with a cameo neckline, the long tapered sleeves
set in an empire bodice. Her full skirt of tulle was decorated with sequined
medallions and row after row of tulle ruffles edged in scalloped lace extending
into a chapel train. Her veil of imported illusion was caught to a pearl
accented Alencon lace crown. She carried a cascade of yellow roses and ivy.
Rita Dimmit came from Madison to be her sister's maid of honor. Other bridal
aides were Nancy Dimmit, the bride's sister from Humbird, Mrs. Eugene Fisher, a
sister of the groom from Milwaukee, and Lucy Schmidt of Loyal, another sister of
the groom. They were dressed in identical dresses in frocks of pale yellow silk
organza over taffeta accented with a lace belle skirt. Matching tulle crowns
held their blush veils and they held cascade arrangements of yellow and white
carnations.
The groom chose his brother, Harold Schmidt of Milwaukee to be the best man and
groomsmen were Ted Schlinsog of Loyal, Eugene Fisher of Milwaukee and William
Dimmit of Humbird, a brother of the bride.
Flower girl and ring bearer were Barbara Scheffer of Humbird, and James Scheffer
of Humbird. Serving as ushers were John Laffe of Minneapolis and Daniel Laffe of
Fairchild.
The bride's mother was seen in a beige sheath dress with a corsage of pink roses
and the groom's mother wore a light blue sheath. She was presented a corsage of
white roses.
Following the ceremony a dinner for 150 guests was served in the church dining
hall with a reception given at the home of the bride's parents from 2 until 5
that afternoon. A dance was given in their honor at the Silver Dome Ballroom at
Neillsville.
The groom is a 1958 graduate of Loyal High School and a 1962 graduate from River
Falls State College. He is employed as a food and drug inspector for the federal
government in Minneapolis.
Mr. Schmidt was graduated from Lincoln High School at Alma Center in 1960. They
will make their home at 3138 Ulysses St. N.E., Minneapolis, 18, Minnesota.
