Swacker, Raymond "Virgil" (28 MAY 1922 - 1 NOV 2012)
Raymond "Virgil" Swacker, age 90, of Abbotsford, passed away Thursday, November
1, 2012 at Ministry St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield. A funeral service will be
held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, November 4, 2012 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in
Milan. Rev. Jeffrey A. Lambrecht will officiate. The visitation will be held
from 1:00 PM until the time of services at the church in Milan. Burial will
follow the service in the Abbotsford Public Cemetery.
Virgil was born May 28, 1922 to Robert and Blanche (Longstreth) Swacker in
Waverly, Nebraska. He graduated from High School in Waverly in 1940. Virgil was
joined in marriage to Evelyn Schuelke on June 8, 1949 in Council Bluff, Iowa.
She preceded him in death on April 19, 1995. After their marriage, they farmed
in Waverly until 1957. They moved to Wisconsin and farmed in the Town of Johnson
until 1976. Virgil also owned and operated Swacker Milk Service and then worked
for Wausau Homes as a semi driver.
His huge smile and twinkling eyes will be greatly missed. He enjoyed his family,
especially his grandkids. Virgil enjoyed sports, watching the Green Bay Packers
and the Nebraska Corn Huskers, and watching birds and squirrels.
Virgil is survived by his sons: Ray (Dorrie) Swacker of Abbotsford, Randy (Dawn)
Swacker of Jacksonville, FL, and Roger Swacker of Menominee, MI; his daughters:
Rebecca (Jeff) Nelson of Abbotsford, and Roxane Stibbe of Angleton, TX. He is
further survived by eight grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and one
expected in December, his sister, Beverly Dugan of California, and other
relatives and friends.
Virgil is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Evelyn, one brother, one
sister, and daughter-in-law, Marilyn Swacker.
In lieu of flowers a memorial will be established in Virgil's name
The Maurina Schilling Funeral Home in Abbotsford is assisting the family with

The Swacker family would like to extend a special "Thank You" to Cindy Dahl.
With her help Virgil was able to continue living in his home.
