Schraufnagel, Linda Lou (Marriage - 5 August 1967)
Nuptial vows were exchanged Saturday in St. Mary’s Catholic Church in
Neillsville by Miss Linda Lou Schraufnagel of Marshfield, united her in marriage
with John Anthony Nesser also of Marshfield. The Rev. George M. Nelson performed
the 12 noon high mass before an altar graced with bouquets of white gladioli and
white chrysanthemums. Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Schraufnagel
of Neillsville and Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Nesser of Marshfield.
Nuptial music was played by Mrs. Glenn Short, and the children’s choir of St.
Mary’s sang.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, chose for her wedding a
sheath-styled Empire dress of peau de soie, fashioned with bell sleeves trimmed
with wide lace, which also edged her train and the bottom of her dress. A
cabbage rose headpiece held her bouffant veil. She carried one glamilia with
entrained ivy.
Miss Gloria Schraufnagel was her sister’s maid-of-honor. Bridesmaids were Miss
Carol Schraufnagel of Colby and Miss Nancy Hopfer of Neillsville. The attendants
were seen in sheath-styled Empire dresses of Avocado green, with lime green
inserts, further enhanced by tiny lime green buttons. Sleeves of the dresses
featured accordion pleats.
James Nesser of Marshfield was bestman. Groomsmen were ken Wenzel and Mike Dumas
of Marshfield. Ushers were Dennis and Perry Schraufnagel.
Wedding day events included a reception in the school hall and a dinner at the
Neillsville Country Club.
The bride, a 1964 graduate of Neillsville High School and of an Eau Claire
beauty school, has been employed in a shop in Marshfield.
Mr. Nesser, a 1964 graduate of Columbus High School in Marshfield, will be a
senior this fall in Wisconsin State University-Stevens Point.
Upon their return from a wedding trip the young couple will be residing at 108
E. 3rd St. Marshfield.
