Twenty three postulants received the habit of the Franciscan Sisters of
Perpetual Adoration from the Most Rev. John P. Treacy, Bishop of La Cross, at
St. Rose Convent, Sunday, Aug. 12, 1962.
Among them was Mary Jean Becker, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Art Becker of Loyal
(Clark Co., Wis.), who will be known in the religious life as Sister Mary
Arthur.
Twelve of the candidates entered St. Rose Convent from La Crosse diocese, four
came from the Spokane diocese, three from Guam, one from the St. Paul diocese,
one from the Dubuque diocese, one from Sioux City diocese and one from the
diocese of Boise.
The novices began a two-year novitiate at the convent Aug. 13. After this
probationary period they will be admitted to profession of vows.
