----- Schmidt, Evelyn (25 AUG 1962)
Evelyn Elizabeth Schmidt, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Schmidt, Spencer, was
escorted down the aisle of St. Anthony's Catholic Church by her father to
exchange marriage vows with John L. Schultz, son of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Schultz,
Spencer, during a ceremony which was held at 10 o'clock Saturday, Aug. 25, 1962.
Rev. Norbert E. King officiated at the Nuptial High Mass for which the church
choir sang and Mrs. E.M. Trnka was organist. The altar was decorated with
baskets of gladioli, while the bride's parent's home where the reception was
held was decorated with streamers of white and lilac.
As the bride entered the church she was wearing a floor length gown of lace. The
bodice was of Chantilly lace styled with a Sabrina neckline and long tapered
sleeves, and trimmed with sequins and rhinestones. The skirt featured a ruffled
effect with layers of ruffle and lace with a panel in the back of narrow lace
and net extending into a small train.
Her headpiece was velvet trim with crystals and pearls, with a bouffant veil
trimmed with lace edging. She carried a heart shaped bouquet of red and white
gardenias.
Matron of honor was a sister of the bride, Mrs. Larry Waldhauser of Menomonie
Falls and bridesmaids were Dorothy Schmidt, Spencer, a sister of the bride and
Mary Schultz, Spencer, a sister of the groom, and Bonnie Rollins of Spencer.
They were all seen in lilac organza over taffeta dresses with tiny bows fastened
to the dress with a pearl. Their matching headpieces were in lilac trimmed with
sequins. Lilac and white gardenias completed their ensemble.
Debra Waldhauser, a nice of the bride, from Menomonie Falls was the flower girl
and she wore a white floor length gown with a lace bodice and a skirt of lace
and net ruffle in layers in match the bride's dress. She carried a heart shaped
bouquet of red and white gardenias, also t match the bride. Ring bearer was
Scotty Schultz, a brother of the groom.
Best man was Larry Waldhauser and groomsmen were Donald Schmidt, Marshfield, a
brother of the bride, Gary Schellinger and Tom Weyhmiller, both of Loyal.
Jerome Schmidt and Thomas Matter were ushers.
A brunch at the home of the bride's parents at noon was served for the bridal
party and family and a reception for 250 guests was held there that afternoon.
The bride attended Loyal High School from which she graduated in 1962. The groom
is a 1960 graduate of the same school. He has been employed as a milk hauler.
Following the honeymoon through northern Wisconsin, they will reside on the farm
of the bride's parents.
