Stringer, Donald (13 February 1937 - 28 October 2012)
Donald (Don) Stringer, 75, of Neillsville died peacefully at his home Oct. 28,
2012.
He was born in Medford Feb. 13, 1937, to Charles and Jean Stringer. Don farmed
in Granton until 1992 when Spring Green became his home with the love of his
life, Olga Iwaszczenko. Don and Olga returned to Neillsville in 1998, when they
settled into the Iwaszczenko family farm. He worked at Walmart in Marshfield for
the past 13 years. Don had a passion for the outdoors, from bow hunting to gun
hunting. He was active in trapping and enjoyed raising turkeys and pheasants. He
was very proud of harvesting his first black bear this year.
Don is survived by his long time partner Olga; his son Tim (Patsy) Stringer of
Alaska; and his faithful golden retriever Max. He is further survived by two
nephews and one niece; his step-children, Tammy and Christopher of Neillsville;
and step-grandsons, Cody and Xavier.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, and two brothers.
A private memorial service was held Oct. 30, 2012. Gesche Funeral Home assisted
with the service.
