Threshing is the order of the day and grain is turning out fairly well.

The fair is over now and silo filling will be the next thing in order.

Mrs. Joe Krause was taken suddenly ill Friday and was removed to the eau Claire Hospital Saturday for an operation for gall stones.

Mr. R.R. Wilson arrived from Plymouth to spend some time with his son George and help with the fall work.

School commenced in joint district No. 3, Grant and York, last Monday, with Miss Bunkelman of Neillsville as teacher.

Aug. Poziombka was taken sick Friday with acute appendicitis, but is some better at this writing.

Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Frei autoed to Fremont last Friday evening and visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Hillert.

Herman Keltch had the silo on the farm of Jas. Phillips put up again. This is the second time the wind blew it over. The silo is of the Vesper make with the patent springs.

Guy Snyder is laid up with a broken ankle, the result of a tip over with a top buggy by Harland Potter.

Mr. and Mrs. Fred Schoengarth have some visitors from Sheboygan County.

Mr. and Mrs. Peter Krejci, who autoed to Fond du Lac a couple of weeks ago to visit friends and relatives, returned home Sunday.

Ed Gault is having a silo erected on his father's farm, much to the improvement of the farm and food supply for the stock.

Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Frei and son George, with Mr. and Mrs. Frank Kubat, autoed to Washburn Sunday and spent the day with Mr. and Mrs. Riesner.

Mrs. Geo. Reindel is taking care of her daughter, Mrs. Arnold Worchel, and getting acquainted with the grandson.

Cene Downer, the 13-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Downer, has his right hand professionally dressed daily since last Friday when he shredded the ends of the four fingers in the feed cutter that day.

Rev. Geo. H. Crow has been transferred to the Thorp-Withee circuit and with his family will soon be leaving their many friends here for the new field of labor and in consequence, new home. Rev. Thomas Grenfell of Lindsey will, for the time being at least, preach here in the Union Church every Sunday evening, beginning at 7:30 p.m.
