----- Gessert, Julie (22 SEP 1962)
Now on a honeymoon through Canada are Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Esselman, who were
married Saturday at Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Bakerville. Rev. Francis
P. Rushman officiated for the 10 o'clock Nuptial High Mass for which the church
choir sang.
Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. John Gessert, route 1, Marshfield and Mr.
and Mrs. Joseph Esselman, route 2, Loyal (Clark Co., Wis.).
For her wedding, the former Julie Gessert of route 1, Marshfield chose a floor
length gown of Chantilly lace and nylon tulle. It was designed with scalloped
Sabrina neckline, having rhinestone trim, and a bouffant skirt with ruffled
nylon tiers cascading down the back, the skirt front with a Chantilly lace apron
effect having lace motifs. Flowing from her aurora borealis crystal headpiece
was her hand rolled edged nylon sheer veil. She carried an arrangement of red
roses and white feathered carnations.
A sister of the groom, Mrs. Mary Ann Bliesener of Loyal was matron of honor at
the wedding and bridesmaids were Mrs. Lawrence Gessert and Donna Baltus, both of
Marshfield; a sister-in-law and niece of the bride, respectively.
Their street length formals, topped with bolero jackets having satin bow trim,
were silk organza over taffeta and styled with bateau necklines, fitted
cummerbunds and fully gathered skirts finished with deep hems. Their headpieces
were crowns of pearls and aurora borealis crystals, to which face veils were
attached. Each held a colonial arrangement of pink roses and stephanotis.
A brother of the bride, Lawrence Gessert of Marshfield was best man, with James
Beaver and Donald Becker of Loyal as groomsmen. Clem Esselman, a brother of the
groom, and Alois Gessert, a brother of the bride, were ushers.
For her daughter's wedding, Mrs. Gessert wore a black and brown dress with black
accessories and Mrs. Esselman wore a blue dress with black accessories.
Following the ceremony a wedding breakfast was served at the home of the bride's
parents. A dinner, reception and dance took place at the Eagles Hall in
Marshfield.
The groom is a graduate of Loyal High School and is engaged in farming on route
2, Loyal, where the couple will make their home upon their return from Canada.
The bride, who attended Marshfield Senior High School, has been employed at
North Parkway at Marshfield.
