Charles (Chuck) Miller, two-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Harley Miller of Rt. 3,
Neillsville is receiving care in a Marshfield hospital for a severe brain
concussion, a skull fracture and two blood clots, suffered when he fell from the
top bunk of a set of bunk beds as he was trying to awaken one of the older
Miller children. The little fellow is also suffering with an ear infection.
Mr. and Mrs. Matt Dergance of Chicago, Ill., are spending a week with her
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Laken of Greenwood, and are visiting Tony Perushek
and Gene Isaacson home sin Neillsville.
Chap Paulson, who is spending the summer at Wisconsin Dells, spent a few days
last week in Sandusky, O., with Mr. and Mrs. Donald Marg and family.
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Maegdefessel spent last week touring the eastern part of
the state. Their tour included a boat trip to Michigan.
Mrs. Clara Lastofka of Alma Center, who has been with her sister, Mrs. Anna
Neville, is now at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Francis Michels, near Alma
Center.
Dr. and Mrs. Reuben Larsen and family of Fullerton, Cal., have returned there by
plane after visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Glen Bush, and her sister, Mrs.
Alan Naedler, and family. Dr. Larson spent 10 days visiting in this area, while
Mrs. Larsen and children were here for a month.
Mr. and Mrs. George St. John and family of Salem spent the weekend with their
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Victor St. John and Mr. and Mrs. Glen Bush and with her
sister, Mrs. Alan Naedler and family.
Mrs. Alex Gall and Mrs. Elsie Scherer drove to the Wausau airport Sunday, where
they met Mrs. Lucille Fenske of Ft. Madison, Ia., who is spending two weeks with
her sister, Mrs. Scherer, and niece Mrs. Gall.
Mr. and Mrs. John Rychnovsky visited Sunday in Waukesha with their son-in-law
and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Arlyn Bryan, and family.
Mr. and Mrs. A. V. Gress and daughter of Dayton, O. enroute to Expo ’67 were
guests one day last week of her mother, Mrs. George Grether. They are being
accompanied on their trip by Ingor Raaby of Sweden, an A. F. S. student who is
making her home with the Gress family for the 1967-1978 school year.
Mr. and Mrs. Frank Svetlik spent the weekend in Minneapolis, Minn., with their
daughter, Mrs. Edward Kubicki, and family.
Mrs. Bob Goodman of Santa Barbara, Cal., was a guest last week of her parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Frank Blumenthaler, and visited her sisters, Mrs. Frank Svetlik and
Mrs. Tony Svetlik and their families. Mrs. Blumenthaler, who recently underwent
surgery in Memorial Hospital, is now convalescing at her home.
Rick Jorgenson, who had been spending five weeks of the summer vacation with the
Rev. and Mrs. W. C. Koehler family, has returned to his home in Muscatine, Ia.
Mrs. Edwin Evanson is planning to leave Saturday for Waukesha for an overnight
visit with her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Arne Matheson. From August
20-24 she plans to attend the National convention of the Women’s Relief Corps as
a delegate from the Menomonie-Chippewa Falls district. Before returning home she
plans to visit again at the Matheson home in Waukesha.
