Paul O'Black, 48, died at 5 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 4, 1962 at St. Joseph's Hospital,
Marshfield, where he had been a patient for the past two weeks.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Anthony's Catholic Church
with Rev. Norbert E. King officiating, and burial was made in the parish
cemetery. The Myre Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. A rosary service
was held there Monday evening.
Mr. O'Black was born Dec. 26, 1913 in Rock Springs, Wyoming and came to Willard
(Clark Co., Wis.) at the age of six with his family. He was married Jan. 5, 1937
at Holy Family Catholic Church, Willard, to the former Irene Zager, who died
Dec. 12, 1960. They moved to Loyal in December of 1947 and have been a member of
St. Anthony's Catholic Church.
Survivors include four children, Mrs. Carlton (Shirley) Beaver, Loyal; Mrs.
Terry (Carol) Stutte, Thorp, and William and Peggy at home; three grandchildren;
two brothers, Tony O'Black of Indianapolis, Ind.; Joseph O'Black of Milwaukee;
three sisters, Mrs. Lou (Rose) Onak and Mrs. John (Frances) Cobb, Chicago, Ill.;
and Mrs. John (Albina) Makovich, Seattle Wash.; and his father, Paul O'Black,
Sr., of Willard.
Pallbearers were Frank Wolf, Hugo Stutte, Joe Poehnelt, John Kaltinger, Kenny
Kanneberg and LaVern Spuhler.
Attending the services from out of town were Mr. and Mrs. Tony O'Black and Jim,
Indianapolis, Ind.; Mr. and Mrs. John Matkovich, Seattle, Wash.; Mr. and Mrs.
Lou Onak and John and Mrs. John Cobb, Chicago, Ill.; Joe O'Black, Milwaukee; Mr.
and Mrs. Terry Stutte, Mr. and Mrs. Dean Hubbard, and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Zager,
Thorp; Mr. and Mrs. Peter Zager and Mrs. And Mrs. Frank Zager, Neillsville;
Peter Zager, Sr., Mr. and Mrs. John Kaltinger, Greenwood; Paul O'Black, Sr., Mr.
and Mrs. Edward Perko, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Matkovich, Willard; Emil Mech, Sharon,
Sandra and Gary, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Radlinger, Marshfield; Mr. and Mrs. David
Mech, Edgar; and many other friends from the Willard, Greenwood and Loyal areas.
