Berg, Pearl (20 June 1903-May 1961)
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Holway Lutheran Church at
Medford for Mrs. Thomas Berg, 57, of Medford. The Rev. Donald Olson officiated
and burial was made in the Loyal Cemetery. Mrs. Berg was the step-mother of Mrs.
Romaine Rossow.
The former Pearl Olson was born on June 20, 1903 at Ironwood, Michigan. As a
child she moved to Little Black and received her education there. After her
first marriage in 1920 to Edward Rietz, who died in 1927, she moved to
Milwaukee. She later moved to Chicago where she was employed until 1952.
Following her second marriage to Thomas Berg in 1054 at Medford, the couple
moved to Loyal. They lived here until about a year ago.
Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Mrs. Evelyn Templeton, Spring
Valley, Iowa; Mrs. Marcella Alton, Oak Lawn, Illinois; two step-daughters, Mrs.
Romaine (Mavis) Rossow, Loyal; Mrs. Marliss Bloom, Milwaukee; 15 grandchildren;
her mother, Mrs. Inga Olson, Medford; four sisters, Mrs. Bertha Galusha,
Teedsgrove, Iowa; Mrs. Florence Othal, Chic.; Mrs. Laurine Hilton, Chicago; Mrs.
Dorothy Harris, Elsworth Air Base, South Dakota; and two brothers, Clifford
Olson, Milwaukee and Russell Olson, Long Beach, California.
