Mr. and Mrs. Harold Haupt of Waukesha and formerly of this city, announce the
marriage of their daughter, Darlene, of Milwaukee to Gerald Wirtz of Milwaukee,
son of Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Wirtz, Sr. of Wisconsin Rapids. The wedding took
place on Saturday, June 3 at Gesu Catholic Church at Milwaukee with Father James
Geuerin as celebrant.
Attending the newlyweds were Miss Ruthanne Goehring and James Snedic, both of
Milwaukee. The bride wore a white peau de soire gown.
Following the rite, a reception and dinner for the bridal party and immediate
family was held at Café Orleans in the Avalon Hotel at Waukesha.
The former Miss Huupt ia a 1956 graduate of Loyal High School and of the
Accredited School of Bewauty Culture of Milwaukee. She has been employed as a
beauty cosmetologist at the SiGanzer Beauty Salon at Milwaukee.
Mr. Wirtz is a 1955 graduate of Pittville Maryheart High School and in 1959 he
received a bachelor of Science degree from St. Norbert’s College in West Depere.
He also holds a Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering which he received
from Marquette University in February of this year. Since then he has been an
instructor in the Marquette University College of Engineering.
After the wedding the couple will leave for Windsor Locks, Conn., where they
will spend the summer and the groom will be employed as a Metllurgical Engineer
for Hamilton Standard, Division of United Aircraft Corporation. In the fall they
plan to return to Evanston, Ill., where the groom will resume his studies in
material science at Northwestern University.
