Karen Pieper, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Pieper and Barbara Luber, daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Allan Luber, were honored Sunday following their confirmation at
Trinity Lutheran Church. The following guests were present at the Luber home for
dinner and for supper at the Pieper home; Karen’s sponsors, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur
Olson, Loyal, and Barbara’s sponsors, Mr. and Mrs. Orvin Litka of Milwaukee.
Other guests present were Miss Gwendolyn Litka and Mr. and Mrs. Paul Otto of
Milwaukee, James and Audrey Olsen, Mr. and Mrs. Larry Rueth and Mark, Mr. and
Mrs. August Luber, Mrs. Mathilda Otto, Mr. and Mrs. Ford Luber and David of Rice
Lake, Pastor and Mrs. Ganz and family, Mr. and Mrs. William Fohrman, Mr. and
Mrs. Virgil Luber and Vicky of Eau Claire, Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Wolfe and family
and Mr. and Mrs. Rueben Litka and family.
Friends who came Monday evening to help Norman Schmidt celebrate his birthday at
the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Schmidt were Mr. and Mrs. Clarence
Knoll, Janet and Gene, Mr. and Mrs. Edd Dobbe and Mrs. Elsie Litka.
Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Schmidt, Mrs. Emma Hium of Greenwood and Mrs. Pauline
Bellemey of Wisconsin Rapids left Wednesday for Charlotte, North Carolina where
they will visit at the home of Mr. Schmidt’s sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and
Mrs. Scotty Ryberg. They plan to return home in about two weeks.
Walter Drake received a telegram Thursday to tell him that his brother, Lyman,
78, of Toppenish, Washington had passed away on Wednesday, May 31.
