Funeral services were held Thursday at the Georgas Funeral Home in Neillsville
for John E. Erickson, 71, route 2, Loyal (Clark Co., Wis.). Peter Hunter and
Charles Preston were in charge of the rites and burial was made in the Lynn
Cemetery.
Mr. Erickson was born Sept. 23, 1891 in Minnesota and lived for six years in
Norway. He was married on May 7, 1924 at Stanley, N.D. to the former Vesta
Johnson. They moved to Clark County in 1926 and farmed in the town of Lynn until
six years ago, when they came to the Loyal area.
He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Donald (Evelyn) Portner,
Bellevue, Wash.; and Mrs. Ronald (Alice) Schlinsog, Janesville; six sons,
Maurice and Verlyn, Oroville, Calif.; James of the U.S. Air Force, Wichita
Falls, Texas; John, Tilman and Richard, Milwaukee; one brother, Thord, Clontarf,
Minn., and 18 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, four brothers and one sister.
