Karnitz, Edward (17 November 1904 - 26 August 1967)
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon from the Lutheran Church in Barron
for Edward Karnitz, 62, of Barron, who died there Saturday. Burial was made in
Barron.
Mr. Karnitz, a former area resident, was born November 17, 1904, in the Town of
Pine Valley. He attended rural schools and later was employed by the canning
factory in Neillsville for many years.
On April 4, 1928, he was married to the former Minnie Wehrman of Greenwood.
After moving to Barron he was employed by the city of Barron.
He is survived by his wife; three sons, Harold of Fresno, Cal., Robert of Barron
and Ronald of the army, who was home on leave from Germany at the time of his
father’s death. Other survivors are: two sisters, Mrs. Walter (Alma) Durst of
Neillsville and Mrs. Jake (Lillian) Wallace of Lake Villa, Ill.; a brother, Tony
of Rt. 3, Neillsville and five grandchildren.
Those from Neillsville attending the funeral Tuesday included Mr. and Mrs.
Walter Durst, Mr. and Mrs. Tony Karnitz, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Karnitz, Mr. and
Mrs. Arthur Dux and Mrs. Dorothy Karnitz.
