Kenneth A Gayken, 63, formerly of Superior, died Monday April 13, 2009, in St Mary's Medical Center, Duluth, after a 10 year battle with illness. He was born in Curtiss, WI, on Oct 28, 1945, to Clifford and Betty (Ackerman) Gayken.

He had worked in housekeeping at St Mary's Hospital for several years.

Ken was preceded in death by his father, Clifford; brother, Russell; and sister, Bonnie Thompson.

Ken is survived by his mother, Betty Smith, Superior; daughters, Melissa, Melinda and Lacy Gayken, all of Superior; brother, Keith (Sherry) Gayken of Weston, WI; sisters, Renea (Jack) Sheff, Cloquet, and Bobby Thompsen, Superior; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Burial will be in Pine Glade Cemetery, Oulu.
