Mrs. A. Mongoli was the guest of Mrs. L. Davis last Friday.

Walter Moldenhauer came home from Minnesota Friday.

Lou Stevens and Mr. Rineheimer of Spokeville were in town Tuesday.

Mrs. Timmer of Chili called on town friends Friday.

Russ Wentworth transacted business at Neillsville, Friday.

Herman Roehl of Chili visited his dad and mother here Friday.

Miss Elsie Neitzel was home from Merrillan over Sunday.

Dr. Rath was at Eau Claire Sat. Evening.

Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Crandall spent Sunday morning t Marshfield.

Rev. Hasz went to Fall Creek, Monday.

Clifton Paulson is very sick with pneumonia since Sunday.

Aug. Lautenbach and Carl Berg transacted business at the Co. seat on Monday.

Mrs. H.E. Williams and Mrs. J.M. Tompkins were at Eau Claire one day last week on shopping bent.

Geo. Huff, Paul Feiser and Jim Quicker went to Tripoli Wednesday to work in the lumber camps.

Miss Louise Kolb after a several weeks visit in the Mongoli home returned to Chicago, Friday.

Wilson Mallory after a weeks visit here went home to Stevens Point, Friday.

Mr. and Mrs. Otto Henze and little daughter returned Monday eve from a weeks visit with relatives at Glenbulah, Plymouth and Sheboygan.

Mrs. H.E. Williams came home Monday from a several days visit with her mother Mrs. Laura Brown at Neillsville.

Mr. and Mrs. John Frazer of Chili were guests at the home of their son George, last Sunday and Monday.

Miss Frieda Garbisch who is engaged with dressmaking at Neillsville was an over Sunday guest at her home north of town.

Richard Anding of Altoona visited relatives here the first of the week and returned home Tuesday evening.

Mrs. Sherman (name not visible) and her two children returned to Neillsville Tuesday after a weeks visit here in the Oscar Anding home.

Mr. and Mrs. James Clark and Miss Flora Janes went to Marshfield Tuesday and spent the day with Joe Janes, the ladies father who is very ill at the hospital there.

Mr. and Mrs. Mike Dorst went to Arpin Friday and made an over Sunday visit with his nephew John Dorst and family.

Mr. and Mrs. W.J. Thayer, their daughter Josephine, Mr. and Mrs. W.S. Davis, Miss Emma Kimball and Mr. and Mrs. E.J. Baer autoed out and spent Sunday evening with Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Wilson.

Mr. and Mrs. Frank Gardner have a new baby girl since Friday night of last week.  Mother and baby doing nicely.

Mrs. L.G. Morris was taken suddenly and alarmingly ill last Friday night but at this writing she is well on the road to recovery.  Mrs. Mabel Welsh is caring for her.

W.R. Happe was in town Monday.  He reports having visited his nephew Edwin Happe at Marshfield hospital Sunday and that he appeared to be getting along okay.

Mrs. Christine Stier who makes her home with her daughter Mrs. C.E. Reed spent last week with her young friend Delia Henze during the absence of the latters parents in the southern part of the state.

Edwin Happe of the town of Fremont submitted to an operation for the removal of his appendix at the Marshfield hospital Saturday afternoon.  Since which time he is recovering from the malady from which he suffered much.

Hillary Ross visited friends at Marshfield, Saturday.

C.A. Guth of Athens came down Saturday and made an over Sunday visit at H.F. Schlinsog’s.

Mrs. T.D. Wage and Mrs. Floyd Winn entertained The Circle at the Wage home Wednesday at dinner.

The Geo Wilson and C.E. Reed families were Sunday dinner guests of Dr. and Mrs. P.M. Ross.

Ben Joern is substitute rural mail carrier on Route Three.  The appointment having been made this week.

Mrs. Varney who had been visiting at Erwin Brooks went home to Columbia, Monday.

Herman Braatz, Fred Grassman and Geo. Nichols were Marshfield visitors, Monday.

Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Vine Sr. after a several weeks visit with relatives and old friends here about went home to Crandon, Monday.

Elva and Perry Thayer were over Sunday guests of relatives at Unity.

I will ship cattle, calves and hogs from Granton and Neillsville, January 26th and 27th.  M. Lastofka.

Mr. and Mrs. Geo Zimmer with Walter Schultz and Miss Ethel Stockwell autoed over from Neillsville Sunday and Spent the afternoon with the baers.

Mrs. F.J. Baer spent  Wednesday morning at the county seat engaged with abstract work.

Mrs. Chas. Chapel and daughter Zona Bell of Marshfield spent the first of the week here with the Geo. Hart family.

Mrs. Hahm came home from Grand Rapids Monday accompanied by a friend, one Mrs. Cramer of Chicago who made a couple days visit at the Louis Pauel home.

Mrs. Herbert Fradette lost an amber hair pin set with rhinestones last week Wednesday which finder will please hand in  to this office and receive her grateful thanks.

C.D. Stockwell of Spooner exchanged greetings with relatives and old friends where at the depot, Monday evening as he was going through by train.

Mrs. Fred Major of Ludington, Mich., who has been visiting at Hy Carter’s, Fred Vines and Geo. Vines and Mrs. Elsie Huckstead left for home on Monday.

Mr. and Mrs. W.J. Thayer autoed to Loyal late last week with Mrs. B.F. Frazier who had been their guest for several days.

Mr. and Mrs. S.W. Rounseville spend Friday morning at Marshfield.  Mrs. Rounseville though steadily on the gain, is yet under the doctor’s care.

Mrs. Edward Schroeder will entertain the O.E.S. Birthday Club tomorrow (Saturday) afternoon.  All visiting O.E.S. ladies are invited to attend.

Miss Minnie Wilke after a five days visit with the Frank Jahr family continued on home to Neillsville Friday.

Mr. and Mrs. H.B. Holmes and daughter Inex, Mrs. W.J. Thayer and daughter Elva were Neillsville visitors Tuesday.

Rudolph Grassman and son Rudy of Monroe County after a 5 days visit at the Fred Grassman home continued on to Hustler, Tuesday.

Mrs. Herman Schoengarth who has been at the Sacred Heart Hospital at Eau Claire two weeks today, suffering with inflammation of the gall gladder is reported to be well on the road to recovery.

Wilber, the 5 months old son of Mr. and Mrs. Bert Guilick died last week Thursday after but a few days illness, suffering with pneumonia.  The remains accompanied by the sorrowing parents were taken to their old home at Dodgeville Friday where funeral services were held and interment made.

Mrs. Price Lee was at Neillsville between trains, Wednesday.

Mrs. Robert Strey had dental work done at Neillsville, Wednesday.

The two youngest of the Chas Schuster children are very ill since early this week.  One little girl has pneumonia.

W.D. Rose, Bush Wentworth, Mr. and Mrs. Will Worchel spend Tuesday with friends at Marshfield.

Byrl Winn gave a delightful dinner party to a half dozen close friends Thursday evening of last week.

Miss Hulda Schoengarth who underwent an operation for the relief of appendicitis several weeks since is still indisposed and under the doctor’s care at her parent’s home in town of Grant.

The R.N.A. of this place entertained Golden Link Camp of Neillsville at an all day session yesterday, Thursday, and one of the attractions was a delicious luncheon daintily spread and heartily dispatched.  There were some 35 visitors.

Mrs. C.C. Sniteman and Mrs. F.J. Baer entertained a large company of lady friends in part at the formers home in Neillsville, Saturday afternoon at bridge whist.  Mrs. Jas. O’Neill won the prize, a neat deck of cards in a celluloid case, while in the guessing contest Mrs. George Ure   carried off the honors and won a hand embroidered burlap sofa pillow cover.

Mrs. Walter Coil of Spencer who took her little daughter Alelia Klein to Marshfield several weeks since expecting to find it imperative to have one of the child’s eyes removed was pleasantly surprised in being returned here that the child might be treated by a local physician in the hope of curing the diseased optic.  For the past two weeks the child has been at the Wesley Shafer home and Mrs. Klein thought frequently visiting here has not found it necessary to remain here all of the time.

We are in receipt of an interesting communication this week signed Mrs. W. Churchill, Mrs. Howard Erwin and Misses Marion Smith and Ruby Winn, written at the first mentioned lady’s home in Milwaukee last Sunday evening where the bunch had congregated to enjoy with Dr. Churchill, and “Irish Stew prepared by Mrs. Churchill, and talk over old times at Granton.  Mrs. Erwin’s husband was out on the Pioneer Limited that evening.  The girls say Sunday evening invariable finds the “bunch” at the Churchill home and The Granton News in evidence, for despite the diversions offered and enjoyed through city life, the old friends and dear ones in Granton are much in their minds and hearts.  Write again, girls.  And to their many friends who read this we will say a contribution to The News from any or all of them will find ready space in this paper and afford the absent ones much pleasure.  Send in your news items, big or little, personal or otherwise.
