F.T. Weeks, Dentist, office over

Mrs. Phil Shaw spent Wednesday
afternoon at Marshfield.
Mr. and Mrs. Dave Garbisch
visited friends in Marshfield, Wednesday.
A.J. Knorr was at Marshfield,
Wednesday.
Miss Mollie Grasser is caring for
Clifton Paulson since Sunday.
Miss Florence Sparks is keeping
house for Mrs. L.G. Morris.
The Circle at the Wage home
Wednesday was exceptionally well attended.
Arthur Teatz came home from a
visit at Jefferson, Plymouth, Sullivan and other state points Wednesday evening.
Mrs. Johnson is here from Shawano
County on an extended visit at her son A.M.’s since Wednesday.
Miss Myrtle Knorr will leave for
Chicago next Wednesday to spend several months in pursuit of her study of music.
A. Nonhof came home from Baldwin
Wednesday. His father who is with
relatives there is decidedly under the weather and Al made this trip mostly to
see him.
Mr. and Mrs. Paul Zemple of Fall
Creek who were here visiting Mr. And Mrs. Ben Joern went home last Saturday.
Kemmeter’s mill was started up
Wednesday afternoon for the seasons run.
Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Christman and
son Clair with the lady’s mother Mrs. Eliza Sutherland went to Milwaukee
Thursday for a week to ten days visit with relatives in that city.
S. Sheldon of Unity has accepted
a position in the W.J. Thayer Hardware store and entered upon his duties there
last Wednesday. Besides being
thoroughly acquainted in the hardware business, Mr. Sheldon is an expert
tinsmith and any work such as putting on eave troughs, steel roof, erecting
furnaces, etc. can now be done right at home.
Heretofore workmen from nearby towns had to be called here to do that
kind of work.
The annual meeting of the Lynn
Mutual Fire Insurance Co. was held Tuesday with a record breaking attendance.
After the usual business was disposed of the election of directors took
the attention of the members for the biggest share of the afternoon.
A change was made on the board of directors this year in as much as
Herman Carl of the town of Pine Valley was elected in place of J.W. Short and
A.M. Steinwand of Colby in place of A. Huckstead.
At the directors meeting the following officers were elected: Hy
Sternitzky, President; P.M. Christensen, Vice Pres.; John. P. Kintzele,
Treasurer; Geo. A. Ure, Sec. The
company still continues to prosper, the total number of policies now in force
being 4635, amounting to $8,841,929.00.
The total amount of losses paid out by the company last year is
$18,315.03. The next annual meeting
will again be held in Granton. The
attendance at the Cyclone Ins. Meeting the next day was rather small and outside
of the election of directors no business of importance came before the meeting.
The directors elected: Wm. Schlinsog, Wm. Kurth, and Ernest Sternitzky.
The old officers were re-elected, namely: Henry Sternitzky, President,
John Ure, Vice Pres., Ernest Sternitzky, Treasurer, Geo. A. Ure, Sec.
This company now has in force 1650 policies, amounting to $2,684, 071.00.
The amount paid out for losses last year is $792.32.
This company has never made an assessment.
