Bremer, Ray
Ray Bremer, who as stated last
week is serving a 60 day sentence in the county jail, is also being held as a
suspect of being the Chili bank robber.
Considerable evidence has been secured by the district attorney and the
sheriff who tends to indicate that Bremer is a bad customer for he is wanted in
various places for minor crimes and the statements that he has made regarding
his past actions and occupations are conflicting in may ways.
When Bremer was at Chili he was seen by two or three persons who saw the
Chili bank robber, and they are all quite positive that he looks remarkably like
the bank robber, if he is not that gentleman himself.
Without having any intimation that he is being held as a suspect,
Bremer has given evidence that he is fully aware of the supposition and
while the efforts of the (unreadable) be of no avail, yet they are working
quietly and securing evidence that is damaging.
The Chili bank robber has been considerable of a mystery in many ways and
it is to be hoped that the right man has been nabbed.
