JOSEPH BARBER
Mr. J. L. Barber died at his home in Greenwood, Clark County,
Saturday, Sept. 10, 1904, at the age of 76 years, 11 months. He was
born in Essex County, N.J., Oct. 10th, 1827 and was married to Miss
Francis Demouth in the year 1847. He moved from New Jersey to
Chemung County, N.Y., where he worked in a boatyard for a number of
years. In 1854 he came to Wisconsin and bought a farm in Calumet
County where he lived until twenty years ago last April, when he
moved to Christie, Clark County, buying another farm here. Two
years ago this fall he moved to Greenwood, where he remained until
his death. Mrs. Barber died three years ago. They are survived by
seven children a a wife whom he married a few months ago. The
funeral was held in the Christie church, the Masons taking charge
of the funeral. Interment took place at the Christie Cemetery Sept.

Joseph L Barber married Amelia S. Howe / Young (1858-1939)
3 Jun 1903 in Greenwood, Clark Co., Wisconsin, United States. She was the
former wife of George A. Young (1859-1900) who she married 23 April, 1889
in Minneapolis, Minnesota.. They had two children, Llewellyn E. "Wellen"
and Helen Mildred (1894-1927) and both attended the public school in Greenwood.
They lived next door to Henry Hartson family. Henry was the postmaster and the
enumerator of the 1910 Census for Eaton Township. The young Baptist
minister, Rev. Wallace Selden Boardman
rented a room in Amelia's home from 1905 - 1906 before he returned to the East
where he'd grown up.
Llewellyn E. Young was born about 1890, in Minneapolis, Hennepin, MN and died 1 Mar 1970 in Evanston, Cook, IL
Helen Mildred Young
(1894–1927) married John Lloyd James, 6 Jan 1923, in Minneapolis, Hennepin, MN
