CHARLOTTE MILLS
Sunday morning the body of Mrs. Charlotte Mills was found in Black
River near her home west of Christie, by her son Claude Mills, who
had gone in search of her. She left home Friday. As she often
spends a day or two with certain of the neighbors, nothing was
thought of her absence till Saturday night. As she did not return,
Claude made a search for her, but failing to fine her, waited till
daylight and continued the search. Walking along the river bank he
found her shawl, and soon after discovered her body in quite
shallow water. Since her husband's death, her health has been very
poor and she has frequently been very melancholy, so that at time
it seemed to affect her mind. It may have been this which led to
her death.
The funeral was held at Christie Church Tuesday, Rev. W. T. Hendren officiating. A more complete obituary will be published later.
