Aschebrock, Helen (1920 -2000)
Helen Aschebrock died Thursday, Dec. 30 at the St. Joseph's Hospital Palliative Care Unit.
Cremainal interment will take place at St. Paul Lutheran Church of
North Green Grove Parish Cemetery, Clark County, WI at a later
date. Rev. DuWayne Schneider will officiate.
The former Helen Bonk was born in Minnesota to the late Anthony and
Kathrine Bonk.
Her marriage to Paul Aschebrock took place on July 8, 1945 at
Flint, Mich. She worked as a waitress and cook in the Milwaukee
area. They moved to Whittlesey, and owned and operated the
Chapparal Supper Club from 1968 to 1979. They then moved to
Abbotsford where they owned and operated a flea market. She also
worked as head cook at Colby High School until retiring in 1985.
She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church of North Green Grove,
served as treasurer and president of the Ladies Aid, and was also a
member of the Altar Guild. She was also very active in Cub
Scouts.
Survivors include two sons, Paul (Susan) Jr., and Gary (Kathleen)
two daughters, Gloria (Jim) Okupniak, and Dianne (Gary) Krajenka
three brothers, Walter (Betty), Pine City, Minn., Stanley (Daisy),
Willow River, Minn., and Frank (Carol) of Burton, Mich. one sister,
Frances (Jerry) Fradland, Stacy, Minn. 10 grandchildren 19
great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two
sisters, Clara Price and Nettie Novak and two brothers, Joe in
infancy, and Albin.
