Borde, Fern Eleanor (1911 - 1992)
Fern Eleanor Borde, 80, of Albany, Oregon died January l8,
1992. She was born May 4, l911 in York Center, Clark County,
Wisconsin, the daughter of Ernest G. and Grace (Mortimer) Rowe.
She graduated from Neillsville High School in l929. She married
Herbert G. Borde, June 4, l930 and they lived there until moving to
Albany, Oregon in l950 where her husband was an accountant. He died
in l968.
She was employed at Oregon State University Department in the
Department of Housing for 23 years as a payroll administrator. In
l967 she was installed as President of the Corvallis Chapter of the
Oregon State Employees Association. She retired from Oregon State
University in l975. Her hobbies included quilting, needlepoint, and
gardening. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and
organist for other churches for several years.
Surviving are three daughters, Jeannine Borde, Portland, OR; JoAnn
Johnston, Puyallup, WA; Judith Vandervort two sons, Armand, Salem,
OR; and Gale of Albany, OR; ten granchildren and two
great-grandchildren one sister, Isla Bandelow of Menomonie, WI, ten
grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
