Briggs, Lola (1928 - 1999)

Lola Ilene Briggs, 71, Thorp, WI died July 22, 1999 at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield.

Funeral services were held Monday, July 26, 1999, 10:30 a.m. at Plombon Funeral Home, Stanley, with David Sommerfield officiating. Burial was in Oakland Cemetery, Stanley. Visitation was from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday at Plombon Funeral Home.

She was born February 21, 1928 in Washington Township Whittley Co., IN to Soloman and Blanche (Worrick) Mantel. Lola grew up in Indiana and married Chrles Briggs, December 18, 1949 in Indiana. They came to the Boyd, WI area in 1974 and in 1985 settled in the Gilman-Thorp area where they have lived since. Lola loved crafts, Grandkids, card playing and life.

Survivors include her husband Charles Briggs of Thorp, WI sons: Tom Briggs and Carol Pelguinn of Boyd, WI, Steve (Margaret) Briggs of Spencer daughters: Sharon Briggs of Dorchester, WI, Karen Briggs of Tallassee, AL, Diane (Mike) Swim of Cadott, WI; 11 grandchildren brothers: Harley Mantle of Albion, IN, Glen Mantle of Corona, IN Roger Mantle of Utah sisters: Evelyn Bernard of South Whittley, IN, Wilda Ernst of Columbia City, IN. She was preceded in death by her parents and 1 brother Bob Mantle.
