Briski, Frank (1916 - 1999)
Frank N. Briski, 82, Thorp, WI, died Sunday, August 29, 1999
at the Palliative Care Unit of St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield,
WI.
He was born October 11, 1916 in Greenwood, WI to Michael and Mary
(Zagar) Briski and received his education in the Greenwood rural
school. He married Ann Harycki on September 6th, 1947 in Chicago,
IL.
Frank served in the U.S. Army in World War II in the South Pacific
for 4 1/2 years, receiving a bronze star for meritorious service.
He worked at the National Malleable Steel Mill in Chicago, prior to
farming in rural Thorp, WI. He was a member of St. Bernard's-St.
Hedwig's Catholic Church and the American Legion Post 118.
Surviving are his wife, Ann and son James of Thorp his daughter,
Susan of Minneapolis, MN three sisters: (Mary) Mrs. Wm. Agiewich,
New Orleans, LA, (Zora) Mrs. Joseph Muvrin, Hillside, IL and (Anna)
Mrs. Frank Vivoda, Cicero, IL 3 grandchildren and 4
great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Larry in
1978, his parents, one brother, Mike and one sister, Helen.
Funeral services will be held at St. Bernard's-St. Hedwig's
Catholic church, Thorp, WI, on Wednesday, September 1st, 1999,
10:30 a.m. with Father John Puerner and Monsignor Matthew Mulnar
officiating. Burial will be in Old St. Hedwig's Cemetery. Military
services will be conducted at Graveside by the Thorp American
Legion Post 118. Pallbearers include: Phillips Briski (grandson),
Larry Rudnick, Rick Podolak, Brian Briski, Craig Benzschawel and
Pete Moskiewicz. Visitation was at Thorp Funeral Home on Tuesday
from 4:00-8:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:30.
