DIED--Brooks, Elizabeth (1810 - 1902)

Mrs. Elizabeth Brooks died at the village of Lynn Monday, Sept. 8th, 1902, at the advanced age of 92 years, 9 months and 17 days. She was born in New Jersey, but moved to the state of New York, where she was married to Bartimus Brooks. They moved to Ohio in 1835, and came to Wisconsin in 1858. Her husband died in 1875. She leaves one daughter, Electa Brooks, of Lynn, and four sons: Alonzo of this city, Daniel who resides in Nasonville, George whose home is at Fresno, Cal., and Erwin of Lynn, with who she has lived for many years past. She leaves also a number of grand children and great grand children.

The funeral was held at Lynn Wednesday afternoon, Rev. Sweet, of Medford officiating. Mrs. Brooks was one of the oldest, if not the oldest persons in the county at the time of her death. She had been through pioneer life in two states and was a type of the women who have helped to make their country great.***Neillsville Rep. Press
