OBITUARY OF JOSEPH E. BROWN (1879 - 1937)

former librarian of The Greenwood Public Library, Greenwood,
Wisconsin (Clark County).
Joseph Emery Brown was born June 6, 1879 at Mankato, Blue Earth
County, Minn., son of George and Julia Thompson Brown. He passed
away at this home Wednesday evening, August 25, 1937, at 7:45 P.M.
having reached the age of 58 years, 6 months and 6 days.
He came to this community in 1905 and lived on his farm in the town
of Eaton until 1919 when he moved to Greenwood where he has since
resided. He was a farmer and truck gardener.
He is survived by one sister, Mrs. Ellen Short of Neillsville,
three brothers, Norman and Bert of Ojibwa and Hubert of Red Lake
Falls, Minn.
Funeral services were held Saturday morning at 10:30 o'clock from
the local Methodist Church and the body was laid to rest in the
Greenwood Cemetery, Rev. C.R. Gaylord officiated.
The pallbearers were Fred Kicker, George Kocher, Hugo Lenz, Eben
Ketchpaw, C. Shields and Lige Niman.
Those in charge of the flowers were Mrs. Fred Kocker and Mrs. Jos.
Rondorf.
