OBITUARY OF NORMAN BROWN

From the Greenwood Gleaner and from the scrapbook of Mrs. Andrews, former librarian of The Greenwood Public Library, Greenwood, Wisconsin (Clark County)

Norman Brown, son of George and Julia Thompson Brown, was born in Mankato, Minn., February 25, 1876. When 12 years of age he, with his parents, moved to Neillsville and in 1905 they moved on a farm near Greenwood.

About 1930, Norman went to Ojibwa, Wis., where he has made his home. He was never married. For the past five years he has been in poor health. He passed away at St. Mary's hospital at Ladysmith, Wis., August 11, 1938.

He is survived by one brother, Hubert of Red Lake Falls, Minn., and one sister, Mrs. Ella Short, of Neillsville. One brother Ralph, who is the oldest, has been out of touch with his family for many years and it is not known if he is alive or dead.

Funeral services were held from the Methodist church on Sunday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock. Rev. C.R. Gaylord officiated. The body was laid to rest in the Greenwood Cemetery.

The pallbearers were George and Fred Kocher, John Arends, Earl Sloniker, Chester Shields and Wellen Hartson.
