bought a farm two miles southwest of this city, where he resided
until death.
Deceased had been suffering with heart trouble and Bright's disease
for the past year and a half. A few months ago he entered the
hospital at Eau Claire, expecting to find relief. Although
everything was done to prolong his life he passed away at his home

month and 9 days.
About 21 years ago Mr. Copeland was united in marriage to Miss

raised three adopted children, they being Alfred Overhouse of
Greenwood, Mabel Utley of Canton, Mo., and Kenneth Copeland who
address is unknown. Mrs. Copeland died Feb. 10, 1925.
The three adopted children above remain to survive him. He also
leaves two brothers, John of Profitstown, Ill., Albert of Richland
Center, Wis., and one sister, Mrs. Jennie Doyle of Clear Lake, Ia.,
two nephews, James Copeland, who had made his home here with the
deceased during the past six years, Joe Copeland of Hooppole, Ill.,

leaves many other relatives and a circle of friends.
Mr. Copeland was a highly respected citizen and one who was well
liked by all who knew him. He was honest, upright and always
willing to lend a helping hand.
The body was taken to Galena, Ill., where on Thursday afternoon,
Nov. 5th, it was laid to rest beside the body of his beloved
wife.
