HARVEY W. DILL-- (1926 - 1993)


Harvey (Jumbo) W. Dill, 66, Greenwood, Clark County, died Saturday, Feb. 6, 1993, at his home. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 8, 1993, at Rinka Funeral Home, Greenwood. Rev. John Tschudy officiated. Burial was in the Greenwood Cemetery.


Pallbearers were Greenwood American Legion members, Ed Gregorich, Bob Clark, Don Clark, Ken Hium, Cletus Susa, and Tom Elmer.


Harvey W. Dill was born July 30, 1926, in Greenwood, to Julius and Lydia (nee Kuester) Dill. He received his education at Greenwood schools. He worked for the Armour Cheese House, then lived in Milwuakee and worked for Milwaukee Breweries and Milwuakee Foundries. He moved to Greenwood in 1972 and was a bartender in Greenwood. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in WW II from Sept. 18, 1945 to Nov. 23, 1946. He was a member of the Greenwood American Legion.


Survivors include three sisters, Mrs. Alberta Thomas, Las Vergas, Nev. Mrs. Anita Abel, Greenwood and Mrs. Buelah Matkovich, Willard and one brother, Gilbert, Willard.


He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, and one sister.


Rinka Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
