Jacob Drager (1947-1999)


Jacob L. Drager, 52, Town of Deer Creek resident, died Thursday, Sept. 23. Funeral services were held Saturday, Sept. 25 at Hemer Funeral Home in Medford, with Rev. Kenneth M. Solberg of United Pentecostal Church in Medford officiating. Burial took place at Stetsonville Public Cemetery.


Jacob Drager was born January 28, 1947 at Medford to Louis W. and the late Vivian Mae (Aselson) Drager, who died in 1971. After graduating from Medford Area High School in 1965 he enlisted in the US Marine Corps. After his discharge in 1969 he worked at Weather Shield. His marriage to the former Sandra V. Block took place on July 25, 1970 at Dorchester. They then moved to Belvidere, Ill. and he worked at Belvidere Products for eight years. In 1980 they returned to Medford and he worked for Mathews Implement. He drove truck for Prochnow Farms for 13 years and for Roehl Transport the past three years until ill health forced him to quit this past June.


He was a lifetime member of Kossner-Dietzler VFW Post No. 5729 in Medford.


In addition to his father and wife survivors include, one daughter, Renee Drager, Stetsonville two sons, Daniel Drager, Dorchester, Clark County, WI, and Johnathon (Liz) Drager, Medford eight siblings, Clarice (Ray) Pashalien, Milwaukee, Naomi (Dave) Kestler, Westboro, Allen Drager, Superior, Larry Drager, Loretta (Wayne) Salzgeber, and Sue (Tom) Blasel, all of Medford, Barbara Schafer, Eau Claire, and Debbie (Bill) Liddle, Green Bay two grandchildren and two step-grandchildren.
